My speakers are happy. All goofiness aside, the speaker stands really opened them up. They’re more relaxed sounding.
The bass isn’t deeper, but you can distinguish things better, like the attack of the bass player’s fingers on the strings… the baritone saxophone and bass playing a note simultaneously, etc. The highs are a bit more airy, and the mids get a better realistic type soundstage.
The biggest improvement may be the overall sound when many instruments are playing at once. They just plain sound better on the stands. Glad I got them.
I played with the placement to find the “sweet spot” you were telling me about. And it really made a difference. I’ve settled on about a foot from the wall, at least for now.

Good afternoon Chris!
I just received my speakers 30 minutes ago, and am now enjoying my new audio sound!! I have tested them with solo piano music, string quartet music, and a Mahler symphony. Even though the speakers are at a moderate level, they are delivering crisp, clean sound in all ranges. And the bass is amazing without a sub!!
Little did I know that when I stopped in 2 weeks ago “just to look and see what’s out there” I would not only find, but buy the speakers for which I had been looking.
